Seeing what cannot be seen

Ausstellung mit einem großen Bild des Schwarzen Lochs Sagittarius A*, drei weißen Podesten mit Beschriftungen und drei an der Wand befestigten Saturn-Symbolen, abgesperrt durch ein rotes Band.

In 2019 and 2022, two images went around the world: the first photographs of black holes. And today, one of them can be seen here at the EXPERIMINTA Science Center.

Sagittarius A*, the black hole at the center of our galaxy. Not just visiting, but permanently! As part of our permanent exhibition, it will now make the invisible visible, together with the underlying physical formulas and three interactive exhibits.

For the grand opening, we welcomed Prof. Dr. Luciano Rezzolla, who played a key role in the creation of the world-famous images and in the development of these exhibits. In a captivating lecture, he spoke about Einstein, the giant Event Horizon Telescope, and, of course, black holes.
