On Thursday, 16 October, everything at the Experiminta Science Centre revolved around the world of quantum physics.
At the Meet & Greet with physicists Merit Spring and Romana Ganser, our visitors had the opportunity to meet two inspiring young scientists in person, and many took advantage of this chance with great curiosity.
From questions about current research and everyday life in the laboratory to the future of quantum physics, the audience wanted to know everything. Children, teenagers and adults alike asked intelligent and creative questions, which Merit and Romana answered with impressive clarity and enthusiasm. It became clear that physics can be not only highly complex, but also exciting, tangible and full of surprises.
Merit Spring conducts research on quantum materials made of oxygen compounds, while Romana Ganser is currently completing her master’s degree in quantum technology. Both were part of the travelling exhibition ‘Rethinking Physics’, which was on display at the Experiminta Science Centre in recent weeks and is now moving on.
The exhibition features portraits of established and aspiring female researchers who talk about their enthusiasm and fascination for scientific work, their successes and their goals. Here, curiosity meets the revolutionary power of quantum physics.
We are delighted with the great interest in the event and would like to thank Merit Spring and Romana Ganser for their time, openness and enthusiasm. Their commitment inspired many of our guests and showed how exciting the future of physics can be.
A big thank you also to everyone who came along and contributed to the success of this afternoon with their questions and thoughts.
